Mental Health And How Exercise Helps

June 16, 2021

We all know how exercise can compliment us physically but have you ever thought about just how important it is for our Mental Health?

These are just a few things that exercise can help with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • ADHD
  • Stress
  • PTSD & Trauma
  • Self Esteem
  • Boosts Sleep

The list goes on and on but these are just a select few. Exercise is known to release endorphins which interact with the receptors in your brain that in turn, helps increase your mood and decreases your perception of pain.

In order to help any form of mental illness it will take TIME but exercises can play a CRUCIAL role in helping to reduce the effects. If you’re going to start to exercise I recommend starting with something you enjoy then try doing it for 30-45 mins 3-4 times per week. Exercise can literally be anything but these are some examples.. Walking outside, Swimming and/or Resistance Based Training.

Mental Health Issues are a common thing and I feel the sooner we identify them, the sooner we can eliminate them. So let’s work together and not only train for the physical purposes but also for the mental ones as well!
